PROBABLY OUR MOST ICONIC EVENT
Was our December 2019 screening party in collaboration with Future First Pictures. We had a diverse programme of short films made by emerging filmmakers, screened in central London and followed by a Q&A with select filmmakers. It was incredibly nerve-wracking for us but he turn out was amazing and there was such a buzz in the room!
The following year, in 2020, we were in lockdown. So we created an online version of the event. You can still access many of the films and interviews with filmmakers and crew on our Instagram.
WE ALSO DID THIS ONE
Imagine us showcasing every kind of artist we could: a smorgasbord of visual art covers the walls, a jazz band kicks things off, then engrossing poetry performances, film screenings and a crazy punk gig to end the night. This was our first and most !GWAK event ever, held at the West End Centre in Aldershot in Summer 2019. The craziest turnout, a lot of pride in the room.
MEETUPS
Were a great opportunity for our artists to get to know each other in-person, we held a few of these in Farnham and mainly London. We also gave some of them a focus by encouraging participants to wear second-hand or sustainable clothing and having a collaborative photoshoot (we called the project Fight Fast Fashion).
