Amber Bardell is an Artist & Filmmaker working in London and Surrey. She makes a wide range of multimedia artwork and enjoys trying new processes. When a film or exhibition project isn't taking up most of their time, they're making fine art and homeware pieces to be sold via Etsy or in collaboration with other small businesses and makers. Director of !GWAK art collective, Amber is always working on ways to make the art world more accessible and provide a platform for emerging artists as well as fundraising for different causes through creative means.
Amber's other areas of expertise and interest include art history, diversity, sustainability and experimental ways of working and collaborating. Amber is consistently engaging with this subject matter and finding ways to implement new research and experiences in to their ongoing practice.
Amber is a big fan of the practical and tactile but also engages deeply with academic art discussions and is dedicated to researching the stories she portrays creatively. Having recently written their dissertation which explored the relationship between women's rights activism and textiles, enquiring: 'What is the Role of Craft for Activism and Communication in Women’s Rights Causes, and How is it Changing in the Digital Age?' Amber is always interested in delving deep in to a topic.
